April began with the amazing London Landmarks Half marathon event, seeing 20,000 runners on the start line. The team at LLHM ltd have done a fantastic job with this event over the years and turned it into one of the best Half marathon events in the UK. We have worked with the organising team on this event since its inception in 2018 and continue to supply our race timing, pack fulfilment and Live APP services.
Hot on the heels of the Landmarks Half was the Newport Marathon Festival with 10,000 runners across 5 events. A full day of running events with the Marathon, Half Marathon, 10k, Future Challengers, Fun Run and Toddler race all taking place during the morning. A busy day with lots of logistics, timing points, results and staff to manage throughout the event. All successfully completed by the raceahead team.
A weeks rest over Easter and then into the biggest event of the year, the Manchester Marathon. This year it was promoted as the biggest day of Marathon runners ever, with a combined 50,000+ runners running the London and Manchester marathons. This was the biggest, and in our view best Manchester Marathon we have worked on. Just over 26,000 runners on the day. Our experienced raceahead team provided timing points at every 5k, 3x relay changeover points, on course screen activations and separate start and finish points. A busy and long day but all went very smoothly, which is testament to the planning, management and experience of the raceahead team.
As we look ahead to May, the team are in preparation mode for the Hackney Moves festival; it’s always an exciting and enjoyable event weekend. Lots of preparations happening in the office, from printing, packing, sorting, checking and planning to ensure we are ready for the May events.
